What do you understand by procrastination? It simply means when you are to do something and you do not do it. Most times it is usually because you do not want to do it.
However for the sake of this topic, I am emphasizing on something you are supposed to do, which you delay for whatsoever reasons.
The main truth remains that there is nothing worse than procrastination. It does not help. It is destruction for anybody. It is an express way to failure. It brings nothing, absolutely nothing more to than failure for those who embrace it.
Shall we say you are about to embark on an important project for your life. You knew the end result is breakthroughs that will spark up your prosperity. Rather you keep postponing it for flimsy excuses. It becomes a battle to get on track this promising project.
At that point an engagement slips in thus distracting your focus. Each time your mind goes back to remind you of need to start this project, your excuses mount so higher and frustrating that finally you end up with nothing
A free moment rolls in and that gear you up to make up your mind to commence. However it’s all the same. The same old story! The days go by, the weeks roll in and of course the months follow, you discover you have not been able to fulfill that need in you.
Procrastination does not bring success to anybody. It is simply a waste of time and value. It is not a fast avenue to goals attainment.
Think about this; how many people have lost the best part of their future today through procrastination? How many dreams have been buried and forgotten as a result of this? How many futures have been ruined?
I am sure that you do not want to find yourself in such position that you will end up regretting that you have not accomplish your goals. I believe that you truly want to get to that point in your life that you will look back at the past years and be grateful to yourself for achieving all that you have planned.
You have to learn that what you want is to achieve a goal and not to pack all your life to the brim with failure.
WAYS TO AVOID PROCRASTINATION
1) BE RIGHT ON TIME
Avoid whatever will tempt you to postpone a duty to another time. Do it when it must be done. Set a time for that duty, and learn to stand by it. Avoid any delay.
2) BE DISCIPLINE
It takes a fixed mindset to achieve a goal. Train yourself to always get things done and at the right time. If it means you have to limit the way you sleep excessively, just do it! Get discipline, and embrace wisdom with it.
3) BE ORGANISED
Have you ever since someone so distracted in all his ways that finds life so easy? Your need to put things orderly is required in order for you to bypass procrastination.
Someone so disorganised will have much trouble around him. He will not be able to settle down to think properly, neither will he be able to reach a resolution on whatever he set out to do. Arrange what you need to arrange. It may be your abode, your working place, or even your inner thoughts. For instance, a distracted mind cannot find the peace to focus. Get out of messing things up, and move on toward what will bring you to your success.
4) BE DETERMINED
Bethany Hamilton determined to move on irrespective of her condition. She did not stop from attaining her goals because she had lost one arm through a shark attack. That was years ago. Rather, she sees the positive side of life through her pain. She moved on, she fights on, and she is determined each day to keep rising above. Today, Bethany has made a name for herself. She won several medals, while surfing with just an arm! Without her determination, without her willingness to carry on despite all, she would not have been where she is today. This is applicable to you as well. Do you know that if Bethany had lost hope and the strong will after the terrible attack, she would not have gotten to where she is today?
Whenever I think of her, I see nothing, rather than a strong young fighter. She inspires me. There are lots of her out there as well. Think about Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald, and then there is Wilma Rudolph, Ben Hogan. What about Walt Disney? Have you forgotten about Tiger Wood? And where do we leave the space for Steve Jobs? How many of these people do you know?
* In one of my next edition, I will emphasize closely on these great movers and shakers of our society. For the moment, all that l am concerned about is; YOU.
Flee from PROCRASTINATION!
Cheers!
